This is the essence and the most important thing one has to realize.

You do not have to agree with others and it's not a problem either if others do not agree with you, there are many different aspects in a show, and we have many different likes we would like to see in a show hence we focus on them. But talking about these preferences with others has nothing to do with forcing or attacking anything, it's just simply called a conversation in the outside world.

Sharing what you find a show is lacking in your eyes is by no way forcing anything. Forcing means the party who "forces" expects the other party to obey his argument. And thats just silly (I mean expecting anything from others on any forums), as here you are only bound to obey the forum rules and nothing else. Hence the only ones forcing anything here are the moderators, but the rest? You can simply stop replying or block the users, whichever suits you. A pro hint though, you can walk away IRL conversations too if they become unfomfortable/unpleasant for you.

Damn, if one does not reply he's just a sociopath who does not care about other's opinion and if one tries to understand the other's point of view than he's someone who cannot lose and only stays to say the last word. A man can not win against such impeccable arguments, huh? Well, that would be the case if anyone cared about relevations such as the cited one. But since no one cared about these relevations ever, we moved forward and invented the wheel and many other amazing things.

look, i can understand people liking the anime for the Voice acting, but there was some serious sheenanigans going around, there were so many QUALITY moments, scenes that where just skipped for time and outright scenes that were not done well at all.

This entire fight is a prime example of it.

Don't try and turn yourself into a victim, no one called you names, and only one person was otherwise unreasonable and a dick. A person you're best off ignoring. The other people just disagree with you. And your opinion, which you're portraying more as a fact, is extremely unpopular within the community, that has very salient arguments to contest with. The anime may not be "bad", at least in the grand scheme, but it's not that good, and not even close to the source material.

There's a reason the majority of the fans who enjoy this series love the LN, like the manga and hate the anime. Everything from cut content, low quality animation / art quality relative to most anime standards and more specifically So-bin's art style, awful CGI and so on. Overlord is one of my favorite series; the anime sucks. It's diluted, rushed, cheap and not up to not only Madhouse but Overlord standards.

The problem with anime and manga adaptations of novel is that generally it is transform to please a wider audience
it's the same principle as commercial music.
that does not mean it's shit but parts that made sense disappeared
and others are exaggerated
it is in this kind of moment that one wonders if the same story was actually read

you only have to watch "Arafoo Kenja no Isekai Seikatsu Nikki"
for the same story two manga adaptation and there is one that is much better, because the second has an accelerated start
an artist who makes stupid choices for obscure reasons can turn a good story into a waste of time
and later in the commentaries you have messages from people who find that the story is incomprehensible, that it is not logic, that suddenly you are two years in the future without reason
or worse that criticizes the author for mistakes that does not exist in the book...


I find the manga and anime super, but it is clearly not for the same public and it is seen in the choices that are made

@kilisloe I've read what's out of the novel (I believe, I haven't checked for months), but I still liked the anime, like I said. So, I don't quite fit your description of novel readers. I realise a novel, a manga, and an anime are all different media, so I can handle the differences. My only complaint about the anime is that since I don't believe it can keep going for too long anymore, if at all (very rare series these days do, only the likes of SAO, it seems), I'd have liked to see my favourite arcs animated, not everything. The lizard and the invasion arcs weren't as nice and funny as some others, and could have been largely skipped without terrible consequences.
