Ch. 19 - Awakening

It feels like he falls more into otaku territory. Since he doesn't blow it out of proportion and say that shit all the time

Trying to reach Ohma was a goal he put too much focus on. That's a super high standard to reach and it means that you wear yourself out by applying too much energy to everything, since you're desperate to catch up.

and adam dudley has turned into a weeboo , lol , constantly shouting nonsense japanese words : OSU . from chapter 190.6 of kengan ashura :

the clinic is right next to the dojo , how convenient . so his money-making scheme is : taking the teaching fee , then beating the sh!t out of his students , then treating their injuries in the clinic and taking more money .

so in this dojo , boys wear black shirts and girls ( cosmo ) wear white shirts , lol .
and the master wants to re-create cosmo in his own image : long blond hair with pony-tail .

at the end , he is "beating a dead horse" ? and 1 of his houses is on Himalaya mountain ?

about the falcon guy , i bet his signature move is "falcon punch" , lol :

I feel like this was more going on the mental side where the stress of being weaker than a opponent who dominated you and not being able to prove that you got stronger puts more or less real chains on you.
Idk how unconventional skating as a training for fighters is but I heard alot of boxers do some sort of dancing for foot work. idk how common it is

I'm so confused.
Was trying to reach Ohma to low a goal?
Was only focusing on defeating one specific person but not thinking about the challenges that could come after the issue?
Just seems like Koga is a pretty knowledgeable mixed martial artist who just wasn't lucky enough to have access to tier Masters and seemingly unconventional training methods.

No, it was that his goal was external, not internal. If you have an external goal it messes up your perception, either you're ahead so you don't give it 100% or you're behind so you strain yourself trying to catch up. Koga's goal has shifted from external (I want to be as strong as Tokita Ohma) to internal (I want to be strong).
Avatar
that or the fact that his fixation on strength limited his world view and made him oblivious to his more subtle flaws
Avatar
@0takuDragonSlayer I think he was limiting himself by mimicking what Ohma did instead of finding what works best for him.

I don't get how Ohma was limiting him but great chapter none the less

@Ojurb
Lol it would be so awesome if they were referencing Ippo AND the old fishermen

@lexy Just think about the car brand that has a name very much like his, and you'll never forget it. ;)

"Oh, so he's going to break a few bones with his punches, I see where this setup is going-"

Glad that they toned down the goat eyes this chapter. What's more, the shadow boxing and adam's pose, plus that freakin smile of the rival ceo (I'll learn his name sooner or later): another top notch chapter when it cones to art (and general story telling too!)

I'm really enjoying the pacing of Omega this time around. While it's not too slow with the development and character building of Koga, there's a lot going on around the story that gives such great progression to the story so far, which makes getting into the meat of the manga even more exciting!

Awakening chapters are always so hype!!

Turned out that some of the speculation me and a few other people had that Koga was limiting himself by his obsession with Ohma was correct.

Absolutely fantastic development and the shot of Koga preparing to shadowbox is fucking superb.

Wonder who this "Falcon" guy is. Next match will probably be another Ryuki one, and we'll also get to see the six confirmed Purgatory "Gladiators".

(Also, yes, the "Fisherman" is definitely Karo, the guy who fought Saw Paing in the first round of the KAT, who was described as having a trunk similar to Dudley's at the time).

@Ojurb
He is referring to Kara Yoshinari that fought Gaolang Wongsawat rival
