@Oeconomist Late reply, is late, but if you don't mind I'd like to throw in my 2c here. He gave up his name when the Rain Woman gave him a new one earlier, according to Japanese (and quite a few other traditional cultures') Lore, names are crazy important to the point where giving your birth name to a stranger gives them power over your very soul. It's why people in a lot of traditional cultures had and still have multiple names, each name being meant to be used in a specific place around specific people, like family or friends or the general public. I myself have three names and thinking about it, I really do compartmentalise their use, like one for public use, one for traditional purposes around my extended family (super traditional this lot), another I keep to myself and so far, no one outside my mom, dad, and little sister know about it other than its initial. Back to the main point here, by agreeing to go with the Rain Woman (and getting his parents killed in the process), then giving up his name for a new one made by the youkai, he has basically thrown out his human identity and since according to Japanese Lore, the trip to becoming a youkai is one way only (aside from reincarnation, but that's ANOTHER story), he is now a youkai and will remain that way. There was a story of some angry tsukumogami that wanted to kill and eat a virtuous buddhist monk to gain enough power to punish all of the families that had carelessly tossed them aside after they served them faithfully for one hundred years. That virtuous monk managed to talk them out of their need for revenge and taught them the Buddhist Scriptures and Mantras, converting them into Buddhists and helping them achieve enlightenment. The story ends there with the youkai having achieved enlightenment, and that's the point I wanted to make here, even with Buddhist Enlightenment (thus they qualify for being reincarnated to a higher state of being after they die in their current lifetime), they are still youkai at the end of the day. So thus it is with Kotarou, he is now the Son of a Rain Woman, and there's nothing that will change that. Last edited 24 days ago by CBC. |

@FireFox— I don't think that he'd have a problem with enuresis were he no longer human. Even if we assume that the Rain Woman were correct, there could be different ways that he could be removed from the world of other humans without himself becoming inhuman. And she may have been presumptive or otherwise mistaken in saying that he could not return to the human world. |

@Oeconomist, she was crying that Kotaro was spirited away and can no longer be with any human being. I think he isn't human anymore |

Oh Jesus H. Christ - everytime that we get a new chapter, you have to read inbetween the lines. Once again I'm glad that the kids 'parents' were murdered, and that he can receive some proper love and care. @Oeconomist - an interesting idea, in that she gains her humanity through these acts of kindness. |

Apparently, he is a living child, and not a ghost. I wonder whether the youkai will remain a youkai. |

The last time he peed on the bed, he got beat up and left in the forest. Imagine the fear he felt when he peed on the bed this time thinking he would be abandoned again. My heart can't take this man. |

Imagine the smell. ๐
Extreme pampering it may appear, but it's an extremely cute pampering nonetheless. |

Still super glad his parents were horrifically murdered by a vengeful ghost. And I'll probably continue to be so with each new chapter. |

@addict I had brief concerns about him having gone off the deep and rubbing something he had no right to possess, like a skull, or strange pearl. Though that's also a legit guess. |
