I dont know why, but this always brings me at full stop, specially since his 40 YO son is narrating the start.

Just an old alternate translation of this chapter that's been sitting on my computer since 2010, saved from a website precious to me. For sentimental reasons, I'd like it to survive. The English seems a bit smoother too.
