@Zing as far as I found most of it is allegations(can't sue me now assholes). There were stories of other groups being verbally abused and them just trying to make money off translating. I never dove deep into it either but it seemed like the rabbit hole only got deeper.

Champion Scans is always pissing me off: for taking up and dropping stuff, taking their work off MD, and try as I might to understand the reasons for it, I hate the slow release rate. I do love the quality, it really, truly is good and very well done. But I've come to hate the group in general.

(I just needed to vent because I'm pissed off that I can't visit their site right now to read. Just many past and more recent grudges. If CS's group ever sees this and takes offense, well sorry, you can't change how I feel.)

I myself did not delve to much into it because I am a slow reader along with after about what felt like the 10th chapter it got boring, and when it gets boring (as in DRAMA) I lose all interest. (the link I provided was simply what I could find in the matter of seconds)

All I Truly know is that there were (and still are) commenters that where (and still are) complete ass-hats who can't follow the rules, something was asked of a group, and it was taken the wrong way and so said group took it to the extreme and pulled their stuff off of MD.

Now, if that group was you and you Do or Don't want to disclose that information, whatever man, that is your business.

All I said is what I know, and I hate it when people start writing a Freaking Book the size of a Dictionary detailing the reasons why they did what they did.

Just like My speeches in the U.S.Air Force, I prefer to keep it Short, Sweet, And Understandable. And if I can't stick with the KISS method (Keep It Simple Stupid) then I don't use it.

@Sharkexpert12 from what I could read (about Two months ago) the MD Admins made an announcement saying that their eventual goal was to become a Qote/Un-Gote "Official manga site" with all the Licenced Publisher approved Manga chapters, while still keeping the Manga Pirate Groups translations available to read.

And because of that announcement, among a couple other reasons, Champion Scans and about 5 or 6 other groups lost their Collective shit and ripped all their manga/chapters out of MD.

I think it is in the Forums if you want to read the posts in question here is one from the MD staff ( https://mangadex.pontanetproxy.com/thread/93392 ) and as for the Scanlators vertion of events look for stuff around the same time frame, So Good Luck looking for them.

That being said outrage no matter how pointless has a spark and because of that neither side is fully in the right or wrong in regards to what has been posted. For me because of the pulling out and the frankly awful post on their own site I am FAR more inclined to favor the outraged as well its 5% (if that) about the actual event and the rest is just them praising themselves.

Sometimes I would see groups page on MD just for fun. And I have to admit, the comments here arent exactly the nicest to see even the one before they decides to leave is pretty mean.
At the end of the day I still dont agree with them, but Im starting to see their point of view a bit more...

Please make Spread View in your site's reader able to go forward just one page.
The way it is now will sometimes screws up the original ordering, by the way it is printed, the intended ordering, of the Spread View of the page.

For example, see Legend Ch. 32 and 33.
The "filler" page is included as the first page, but even though it's supposed to be on the right side of the page originally, the credits (that's treated as 2-page) is on the second page, and thus makes the first page displayed on the left side of the page and make the rest of the pages misaligned.

About the recent Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha chapter (ch.15), not try to be picky but I have came to notice that there are several translation mistakes..
On page 4, Acid Bullets > Acid Blitz based on the furigana
On page 5, the attack that Rentt is referring to is the Acid Blitz. The attack itself is the defensive mechanism of the slime and it will continue the attack as long as Rentt's group keeps attacking it. So in order to stop the slime from using the attack, they have to stop attacking the slime.
On page 6, What Raiz said is because of the size and the viscosity, his sword can't reach the core. So "the sword can't reach the core" is causation of previous statements instead of additional information.
On page 13, Grand Blaze > Grand Prox also based on the furigana
On page 19, "the guild has bad personality" is a literal translation of the raw. It's a metaphor but I don't know English so maybe the reader can get what it meant. Also Rentt doesn't ask Laura to protect them from the smoke but to clear/blow the smoke.
On page 22-23, the guild report task is not mandatory as what your translation suggested, it should be alternative task. The guild staff basically said that the exam is over, if you want to report this to the guild that's fine, otherwise you're free to go home. So it is a trap.
That's why Rentt commented in the next dialogue that way.

That should be all. I won't translate this series because it's a redundant thing to do so no worries and please take your time to make the translation better. Also I really hope you guys use the official English term in this translation instead of reinventing the wheel.

Protip: if you have a bunch of series then you can't stay on top off all of them. Make sure to drop some of them so others can pick them up!

I really like a lot of the series, but it pains my heart that sometimes I see others 'snipe' a series releasing several chapters after it's last chapter was months ago, only to see it removed because the group still wants to hang on to the series and then suddenly the group does have the manpower to defend against the snipe and work on the series releasing the same chapters (albeit higher quality) but with a huge delay on the releases. Reminding me again that the series was sniped and dead when the delay is up.
So... good work, just don't remind people twice/thrice that their series was dead. Either let it die or don't have a delay on defensive releases on months dead series.

@Cidolfas At the start of their release-athon they began migrating to a new server, and things blew up. Like really badly. They were stuck fixing things until after January started, almost 2 months from when it blew up.

They released a new chapter on their page again, first since the 12th, so I guess they're not dead yet. They also added a post asking for translators.

Between the delay and the lack of any communication it's hard to tell how alive they are, but they do seem to still be alive for now.

@a27wolf I believe they were referring to uploading their old releases to the host for the new reader.

Certainly a shame the group doesn't give much feedback, though.

I understand the purpose of and your right to implement - a release delay. However a 2 week delay?! Anything beyond say a 3 day delay isn't going to push more people onto your site. It really won't. Very few people would say "I can wait 3 days but not 2 weeks." You certainly have to realize this as well. So then why do it? It isn't hard to guess.

Rather than the standard purpose of a release delay - That serves only to kick sand in the face of those who prefer a more centralized place to view their manga/standardized experience - or something along those lines. It is a big middle finger to the people here. That's the only way I can view it.

I'm not generally one to complain to/about scanlation groups and others putting in work for the benefit of others. Regarding the work itself and the time you invested, I'm grateful for it. I'm more likely to gripe about overly entitled people (something I have experience with). But this BS "gesture" has me reverse my normal stance. So I refuse to visit your website or whatever. I've been intending to donate to more things than I do now - definitely not donating to your group. I'd sooner go to one of the leecher websites before that!

Haven't given their new reader a good long look yet, since it all that's been uploaded are their previous releases (probably what the 300+ chapters was referring to). They seem to holding off on the new releases until they finish debugging the new reader: it works fine for me now, but a day or two ago only the vertical scrolling style was working properly for me.

Some feedback for them: the reader's UI has icons for the different reading modes. You may want to change them to represent the CURRENT reading mode, rather than what you'll swap to by clicking the icon. Had me confused for a while.

I don't have much to say to the people here spewing hate towards this group, I can understand the frustration. On another day, there might've even been a hate message here under my name.
If u have been reading comics for some time now, then u get used to waiting for the next chapter to come out. It's a common thing with most groups, but waiting on empty promises is on a whole new level of anguish.
Then again,we should keep in mind that scanlators are people who go out of their way to provide us with the stuff we like so much (sure they may ask for donations for helping with scanlation process) but they're not required to do so!
It's their hobby/interest, we should show a little appreciation and from time to time, ignore/forgive them for not meeting our expectations of them
They're the goddamn heroes we need but don't deserve!

What updates are you doing currently because I've seen no change to the system you have other than removing the privilege of chatting on your discord and that's not even related to your website. please engage more with the community you have instead of shutting them out and not communicating any issues or delays.

I read it all and agree. They horde translations for arbitrary reasons, but will not release them because of "viewership being low". Which only occurs because they've held them for 7 months. The only time I've seen them perform adequately is when someone begins a project they've seemingly shelved and claim it being "sniped".

I'm honestly expecting them to revive once the vultures start taking titles.

You know I've been following this group for two years and I have to say without a doubt they are the MOST frustrating group I've ever had the displeasure of following.
This group goes dark all the time sometimes going months without posting anything. Their Batch releases are just months of them holding onto chapters for some reason. On top of that their site goes down right before another batch release after the 2nd or 3rd time they've migrated their hosting.For some reason they wont post their chapters on another site while they're migrating and we just have to wait even longer. You have to ask yourself after awhile if its just gross incompetence or actual malicious intent. All this great work they do and they are just unbearably slow with barely any communication. I would read worse quality translations if it meant getting a chapter more than once every two to three months even on the monthly releases.
Do yourselves a favor don't read anything they translate because odds are you might not see another chapter off it for three months if your lucky.
Now let me just preempt all the responses of "they do it for free or why dont you do it yourself then huh?"
I wish I could I simply do not care enough or have enough time to spare to do something like this.
As of this post their last release was on the 22nd of november. They decided to not release any chapters (except joint projects) up until their anniversary release and after experiencing numerous problems in the past which they dont learn from for some reason their reader shit itself and they decided to migrate the site again or something lord knows. We received an a brief update on the 5th. So far we've been waiting over three weeks for them to migrate their site during which they could have release the chapters here or something.

This was the only place I could find to leave a comment like this as their discord rooms are locked and I could not find a way to comment on their site, I doubt many people will read it.
If any other groups are reading this I know there's this stupid honor code that some scan groups follow but honestly if you have a group and feel like it translate some of their projects go ahead. It'll probably take them three months to find out.
TLDR:
Dont bother with this group. Dont get your hopes up to they are slow, they are very inconsistent, they dont communicate well, and to be honest I think they get off on watching us wait for months while they have huge backlogs of chapters they could release.

1. I'm not involved with Champion, i just upload the chapters so that they get to mangadex as early as possible.
2. Champ requested a 2weeks delay for all future chapters.

Celebrating Two-Years Scanlating!

Another year has gone by already?! It felt like I was typing a post similar to this only a few months ago! Despite everything that’s happened this year, same as our first one, this year has been something special… To think we’ve grown so much over the course of a single year is out-of this-world!

For such a feat, we had to go all out. We weren’t content with releasing a mere 20 chapters and calling that a ‘batch’. This year we’ll be doing a 7-day long batchathon which tops our biggest batch by almost double! So, for the next 7 days, chapters will be released (at least) an hour apart after the first release that day. Staggering releases like this should (hopefully) keep our reader from dying.

[Update] Upgrade Status
Improvements and upgrades are underway.

As we already have a new database/reader 80% complete on a different server, the batchathon will be delayed so that we can finish, setup and transfer onto it. Additional image servers will be coming shortly to further performance and stability.

At this moment in time, I can’t say with certainty the length of the delay. We could be back up and running as soon as the 24th if things go smoothly.

3. Whoa, you just removed 5 MB worth of traffic for each archive's download or online reader view without any effort or downsides!
Furthermore, you can save scans in png with less colors too! In case of https://mangadex.pontanetproxy.com/chapter/404263/1 you need to level it a little (6, 1.03, 252) to remove remaining dirt from filters, save with 16 colors, then optimize png and, would you look at it!, you have archive which only 15 MB instead of original 37 MB without any visible changes in quality.

Wouldn't it be easier to just use MangaDex's built-in release delay feature, where you upload chapters right away, but the site delays them for a certain number of hours? The delay setting on this group is currently "none".

Scan sizes (width and height wise) for the first two chapters of https://mangadex.pontanetproxy.com/manga/24288/sentouin-hakenshimasu are all over the place. Fix it please.
