Description:
As a child, Thorfinn sat at the feet of the great Leif Ericson and thrilled to wild tales of a land far to the west. But his youthful fantasies were shattered by a mercenary raid. Raised by the Vikings who murdered his family, Thorfinn became a terrifying warrior, forever seeking to kill the band's leader, Askeladd, and avenge his father. Sustaining Thorfinn through his ordeal are his pride in his family and his dreams of a fertile westward land, a land without war or slavery... the land Leif called Vinland.

@alsila A 2 years jump in a flash. Why doesn't it tell the travels to Constantinopla or Mediterranean Sea? I don't like this skip 🙄 Vinland Saga has been very patient with its storytelling. It has spent whole chapters on one-off minor characters, never to be seen again. It has lovingly given attention to secondary characters, gradually developing them and their relationships over time. It has slowly, carefully revealed and developed its core themes over hundreds of chapters. It has already used one very substantial timeskip and survived quite intact. I am inclined to give Yukimura credit for all that and trust the pacing decision they've made. |

Glad to have someone else picking this up for translation, but I'd work on the type setting. The choice of font looks...not great. Edit: Nvm, I shouldn't complain. First page said they weren't fluent and were just doing it so we can catch up before officials come out. Last edited 14 days ago by Yatagan. |

@Kanami-chan how is Hild a bad character? She is literally a ghost of Thorfinns past reminding him that he can't just run away from or forget his violent past. |

Man I feel like some people complaining about it getting boring and such doesn't seem to understand that this manga isn't just about revenge and violence. It's about growth and forgiveness. I know most were used to the violent first half of the manga but I think this is a great slice of life series. |

Just binged it. Had this manga on my plans for some years and finally had the initiative after watching some episodes of the anime. What a masterpiece, damn. Now the hard part is to wait for new chapters only once a month. |

Just binged it. I really hope it returns to what it was in the beginning. Somewhere after ch.100 it just started adding more japanese overworn clichés like Garm, the antics of Full Eyes, Sig's halfway comedic bumblings with his dimwit crew and whatever the hell that monkey monster was . It's still good but those things kinda tick me off since it was a lot better in the start, because even though it had the ususal manga stuff it was a lot more subdued. |

This manga is so intriguing and beautiful. The Vinland Saga is like human nature being poured out in front of you in these gruesome moments, all the while showing heartbreak, struggle, and the search for forgiveness. It's almost like a philosophy in of itself. Vinland really shows the raw form of what humanity is and I love it! |

@themanj I'm not sure what they are talking about either. I started reading manga after watching the anime on Amazon Prime. This series is incredible, it's so engaging and deep. The stuff it talks about is so real. I know it's not specifically a Christian manga, but the struggle for forgiveness and redemption helps me to understand my faith a little better. |
